2019 SEMI-FINALIST
The Kent State Advertising Practicum course offered to pre-selected senior Advertising, Communication, and/or Visual Communication Design students. Professor Wendy Wardell, creator of this course, hand-picked 11 students who she felt were the most determined, passionate, and capable to take on the Effie Collegiate Challenge.
ABOUT EFFIE:
"Each year, student teams compete to provide a solution to a marketing challenge presented by established organizations – their “clients.” The competition culminates with selected finalists pitching their ideas in-person to the brand."
Myself and two teammates were challenged to rethink the car buying process for Subaru to adhere to the Millennial and Gen Z mindset. We focused our efforts into getting the target audience into a mindset of not buying the car, but to buy the brand. Inspired by the "cult community" of Subaru lovers, we decided to embed Subaru in the everyday "Experience Seekers" and offer a unique experience that leads to new friends and new adventures.
